750,000 tulips at Sera Kogen Farm

As sakura blossoms fade, the tulip fields at Sera Kogen Farm come into their own.

The 750,000 blooms across 65,000 square meters are expected to look good through the Golden Week holiday and beyond, and the farm’s 2026 “Tulip Festival” is held from April 10 to May 6. Please note that large crowds are expected during the holiday.

We haven’t had confirmation for this year, but those who like to garden themselves should consider getting up there on the final two days when, in the past, visitors have been allowed to dig up as many bulbs as they can stuff into a plastic bag for just a small charge (it’s recommended that the hardcore take their own trowel and wellies) – currently planned for May 9.

If you are in the area, be sure to drop by this lovely temple cafe.

Here are some pics of the tulip fields from a nice sunny day a few years ago.
