As well as some gorgeous installation pieces, such as the beautiful swirling creations of Kosei Komatsu, most of the exhibits use digital technology to create highly interactive and immersive experiences that children will love and adults will not be able to resist have a go at.

Unusually, visitors are welcome to take photographs and video of this exhibition so you can capture some nice family memories too. Even better, kids up to the end of junior high school get free admission.

Note: The museum is closed December 30-January 1

If the weather cooperates, kids will also enjoy running around the excellent playground next to the museum. Good, locally-sourced food is available at Toretta Miyoshi (トレッタ三次) market and free Miyoshi wine samples are on offer at the winery, both of which are also right next to the museum.

Miyoshi is only one stop on the Chugoku Expressway from Shobara where Bihoku Hillside Park is located where you can catch some of the best illuminations in the region.
