Monkey about town captured in city center parking lot
The cheeky primate that has been making a monkey out of local police for a week was finally captured today.
The monkey that has been the center of the city’s attention since it was spotted on the grounds of Hiroshima Jogakuin Junior and Senior High School in Noborimachi on November 18 was finally captured this evening.
Sightings were reported daily since its first appearance, but police and local officials were unable to corner the elusive primate. It was seen again in Noborimachi at around 6:50 am, but 20 minutes later, police spotted it crossing the main road into the Nagarekawa nightlife district – maybe looking for an after-party at Enjoint Bar Cover or somewhere…
Multiple sightings were reported a little further south in Nishihiratsuka throughout the day, and at around 3:25 pm, it was seen going into an underground parking lot. The police saw their chance and covered the entrance with netting, trapping the monkey about 90 minutes later. It is reported that the captured monkey will be released back into the mountains.
Live long and prosper, friend!
