IKEA confirms no Hiroshima Store

It has been confirmed that IKEA will not be opening a store in Hiroshima, at least for the time being.

Many Hiroshima residents have been wondering when the store would materialize ever since the company bought a plot of land in Futaba-no-sato on the north side of Hiroshima Station back in 2013. Chugoku Shinbun reports that the plot has been sold to an undisclosed buyer. All hope is not lost for IKEA fans, however, as the company is still looking for an appropriate location for a Hiroshima store.
