If you’re looking for a place to get rid of your hair with Brazilian Wax in Hiroshima, I recommend Yoshiko Yano’s salon in Yokogawa. No matter which waxing studio you choose, always pick one that prioritizes safety and hygiene. She opened this place in 2013 and has a lot of non-Japanese customers whom she welcomes warmly although she can’t speak a lot of English. She’s really nice and removes the hairs softly. I went there to do my armpits and contrary to what I expected, it didn’t really hurt at all. You can go for bikini waxing (you can choose among different shapes including complete removal) for ¥5800, armpits for ¥2500 and you get ¥500 discount if you do both. If you plan to wear a kimono or yukata, you can get your nape waxed for ¥2800. It takes 45 to 60 min for the bikini, and 20 to 30 min for the armpits. Brazilian wax is quite new in Japan, but becoming more and more popular. If you have never tried, what you need to know is that hairs take much longer to grow back than with other depilation methods, they also become thiner and less numerous and you don’t get irritation when they start to grow back. Yoshiko Yano takes hygiene seriously and makes you feel very comfortable. Her small salon is a really relaxing space. The place is not difficult to find: When you arrive at Yokogawa Station, take the covered arcade on the left and turn left at the end of the street, walk under the railroad tracks, cross 2 streets and it’s on your right, in a red brick building. If you get lost, call her and she can meet you at the station. If you live near Iwakuni, she also opened a shop there this year.
