Kitchenette
Kitchenette is a very nicely designed two-story cafe one road east of Peace Memorial Park. Open throughout the day and well after midnight, Kitchenette serves great coffee and some very tasty food. [日本語]
Kitchenette’s full name is R[a:r]Cafe Kitchenette. The original R[a:r]Cafe, located just south of Fukuromachi Park in downtown Hiroshima, was one of the first places of note in Hiroshima’s cafe renaissance that began in the late 1990s. With Kitchenette they are riding the next wave, taking inspiration from cafes in Portland. It’s a pleasure to spend time at Kitchenette and, luckily, the quality of the food and drinks on offer match the design.
Kitchenette smokes their own bacon which they use in their very popular spaghetti carbonara. They also make their own ice cream and offer some very tasty desserts. Lunch sets, served 11:30-14:30 are under ¥1000 and include sandwiches, bagels, pasta and rice dishes. There is also a selection of salads and organic pastas available for dinner, as well as bar snacks and a full drink menu which includes a nice wine selection.
