Cafe Cacimu

A great little family-friendly cafe next to Gion’s AEON shopping center in Asa-minami-ku, 20 minutes outside of the city center. Cafe Cacimu (pronounced Ka-shi-mu) is run by Yuki-san, a talented baker, chef and entrepreneur.

Yuki opened the shop at the end of April, 2011 and is meeting the challenge of staying open everyday to serve a growing number of loyal customers. There is plenty to like about the place to keep you coming back and as a working mother herself, kids and families are very welcome.

It has also become a popular stop for couples, families and small groups of friends who love the great food, drinks and desserts.

Lunch sets cost under ¥1,000 including salad, main and drink. Add a dessert for only an extra 200 yen. Kids sets of rice, salad, main and drink (or curry and rice lunch) are only ¥500.*For kids: there are also booster seats, toys & books available as well as a diaper changing station*

The daily set specials will change every week: basically main set lunches with either meat or fish.
When we ate lunch there, the daily set came with either a fish or meat main: the fish in Korean style teriyaki sauce set and the fried chicken and quiche set were filling, healthy and tasty. The homemade desserts were delicious and the atmosphere was very comfortable.

Getting there:
Train: get the Kabe line to Shimo-Gion Station next to Gion’s AEON mall and walk past the mall toward the Nissan dealership.
Cafe Cacimu is located on the opposite side of the road to the dealership (same side as the mall).
By car: Located opposite Keizai Daigaku, Hiroshima University of Economics, follow signs for either the university or Gion AEON mall from route 54 heading toward Midori, Asa-Minami-ku area from Hiroshima city.
