Cafe Luster
The stylish smoke-free cafe serving excellent coffee and muffins, freshly made on the premises, is well worth stopping by if your find yourself in Ushita.
Cafe Luster is a small cafe of simple design located at the bus rotary at the end of the main shopping street in the suburb of Ushita. The menu is as stripped back as the interior design, focussing on drip coffee, espresso and tasty muffins. The muffins are baked fresh on the premises daily, where they also prepare their own granola which is available to buy to take home.
Luster gets their coffee beans from Obscura Coffee Roasters and offers its own ‘Luster Blend’, as well as beans from Brazil, Mexico, Ethiopia and Indonesia.
They also pour a pretty impressive espresso shot and I was very pleased with my machiatto. The autumn Sweet Potato muffin we had was also delicious.
The cafe has seating for 18 and there are 3 power outlets at the counter.
The cups the coffee is served in come the Yumachigama kiln in Shimane prefecture. The cups are available to buy, as are their beans and granola.
