Miyajima Kangensai Boat Festival

The Kangensai is the biggest and most elaborate festival of the year at Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima. Elaborately decorated boats leave the shrine in the afternoon and, after making rounds of several coastal shrines, return late at night.
