The plays, based on Japanese myths, legends and historical event vary, but the show are always thrilling. If you are in Hiroshima City on a Wednesday, Wednesday Night Kagura is not to be missed and it is a real bargain!

Klook.com
In contrast with other forms of classical and folk theater in Japan, Hiroshima Kagura, with its action sequences and driving percussive rhythms, is highly entertaining even without knowledge of Japanese. There is an English-speaking MC on hand to help explain things and English subtitles are displayed above the stage.

Several times a year, you can also buy a ticket to go backstage to talk with the performers, check out the amazing costumes, and take souvenir photos.
