Kabe Renzan Trail Race

7km, 16km and 33km trail races in the hills behind Kabe, just north of Hiroshima city.
With the race starting at 9am, this is one trail race that is possible to get to without a car. The train takes you as far as Kabe Station, from where it is a 6km taxi ride to the Chugoku Denryoku Nanbara Kenkyu Center [中国電力研修センター南原研修所], were the race starts and finishes (the taxi fare was about ¥1700 in 2016). Although the local bus won’t get you there in time for the long race, you can catch a bus back to Hiroshima city center (though the number of departures are limited).
