Itsukushima Underwater Fireworks Festival

The spectacular Miyajima Fireowrks Festival that was held every summer for almost 50 years until 2019, has been revived by a private company.

Taking a look at the official website, it appears that quite a lot of the usual (and presumably, best) viewing areas are taken up by paid seating. There is, however, sure to be place from which visitors can catch the 30-minute show free of charge.

This is a pretty popular time to visit Miyajima already, so arriving early is recommended to scope out and secure your preferred vantage point to enjoy the colorful explosions in front of Itsukushima Shrine.

There will be a little market set up in the space next to the Miyajima ferry terminal featuring, where you can get into the spirit of things with drinks from Hiroshima Neighborly Brewing, Hiroshima North Beer, and Dassai sake. Main sponsor ANKER will also be charging phones here for free.
