December 23 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
The annual performance of Handel’s Messiah by the Jogakuin Messiah Orchestra and Hiroshima Messiah Choir is a rare chance to see a classical concert without charge. There is also the added bonus of very reasonably priced childcare by trained staff for the duration of the concert, meaning even couples with young children can enjoy the luxury of an evening out together without breaking the bank.
As always, there is no charge but a donation tray is passed around to raise money for young widows who have to support a family and a workshop for the disabled.
Since there are no tickets, it is advisable to arrive early to get a good seat.
Doors open at 5pm, performance starts at 5:30pm.
Due to the heavy demand for seating, is is kindly requested that people do not leave their bags on seats and do not leave gaps between seats.
Excellent supervised creche available (about ¥300/child which includes a snack).
Access: Get off at Jogakuin-mae streetcar stop on the Hakushima Line
