Hiroshima Castle Halloween trick-or-treat
October 31, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeFamilies looking for kid-friendly Halloween fun in the early evening of October 31st, head to the Hiroshima Castle for trick-or-treating fun.
Place – start at the fountain at the south east corner of the castle where Gion Shindo Road meets Jonan-dori Avenue
Time – starting from 17:30 PM until roughly 19:30 on Thursday October 31st
What to bring – kids in costume (adults in costume too is fine, many do dress up) and some candy or prizes to share.
What to do – we meet at the fountain in front of Hiroshima Castle around 17:15 to 17:30.
Adults and responsible older children position themselves at intervals along the path by the moat (Gion Shindo side) to give out candy to the trick or treaters. Afterwards, we gather for a group photo and good night!
FAQ:
Q. Who can participate?
A. Any child who wants to from infants through teens. We aren’t going to be people who deny any child the fun of dressing up.
Q. Are there any costume restrictions?
A. No. Just use your common sense, don’t get hurt or hurt anyone else, and most of all, have fun!
Q. Does it cost anything?
A. Nothing other than some candies and the time you put into the costume. We also sometimes collect a donation for a charity – but that’s completely optional – this year will be for typhoon relief once we recognize a good organization.
Q. What if we come after 5:30?
A. It’s helpful to have a few people who are early to help get started, but feel free to join in later if that works better for you.
Q. How will we recognize you?
A. Look for the costumes!
Q. Are you affiliated with any organization?
A. We’ve been grateful that GetHiroshima (and their children) organized this event for years, but it’s just local families getting together.
