Yuki Harada: Home Port
November 30, 2024 - February 9, 2025
Born in 1989 in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Yuka Harada grew up in Hiroshima. In 2016 earned an MFA in Inter Media Art, Tokyo University of the Arts. Harada employs technology and performance in landscapes and self-portraits that express the essence of society and the individual, taking insignificant examples of visual culture as his motifs.
Since residing intermittently in Hawaii since 2019, Harada has focused on cultural motifs of a transnational nature, particularly the phenomenon of pidgin English.
In this exhibition, all of his major works to date, including “One Million Seeings,” “Waiting for,” and “Shadowing,” will be on view. In addition, a new series, “Dreamscapes,” are on display.
