Onomichi Costume Parade

Onomichi’s “National Costume Contest” combines Japanese Cosplay with western-style fancy dress and Halloween costumes. Participants parade down Onomichi’s shotengai covered shopping arcade between 11am and 12pm before being judged in the Kokaido Hall. Last year’s event featured the governor of Hiroshima Prefecture and some traditional Japanese blackface.
