The Hatsukaichi Oudan Miyajima International
Triathlon (はつかいち縦断みやじま国際パワート
ライアスロン大会) aka Miyajima Triathlon aka
WoodMAN starts with a spectacular swim start
below the floating great torii gate on Miyajima
and finishes up in the mountains in the north
of Hatsukaichi. It’s a great event, but the
course is a very challenging one – you can
get an idea from the graphics on the course page of the Japanese website.
Swim: 2.5km (wetsuit compulsory)
Bike: 55km
Run: 20km
Entry fee: ¥25,000
Open to people who have proof of completion an Olympic distance triathlon in the last 3 years or a signed certificate of swimming 1500m.
Entry period: March 1-April 30
