Hiroshima Carp through to Climax Series Final
Hiroshima Carp secured a showdown with Hanshin Tigers in their first Central League Climax Series Final in 5 years against Yokohama DeNA at the weekend.
The Hiroshima Toyo Carp, who finished second in the Central League regular season, followed a thrilling win on Saturday with a 4-2 victory over third-place Yokohama DeNA yesterday at Mazda Stadium. Having clinched their place in the Climax Series final stage by winning the initial three-game series, the Carp will now face first place finishers, Hanshin Tigers in a six-game series at Koshien Stadium in Hyogo starting on October 18. It is the first time Hiroshima has made it to the final stage since 2018.
After the game, Carp manager Takahiro Arai declared to the assembled fans, “In Koshien, we will fight like high school baseball players, with gusto and all hands on deck.”
