Travelpal International

Hiroshima city government is teaming up with private businesses to provide “street corner tourist information spots” around the Hiroshima City. TRAVELPAL International tourist information spots can be identified by looking for the TRAVELPAL International sign shown to the right.

At their most simple, the locations provide a rack filled with tourist information brochures, maps and guides in various languages. Others provide a place to sit, public Wi-Fi, computer, telephone , photocopying and fax services as well as toilet facilities. The businesses involved all hope to help overseas visitors navigate the city more easily, however, just because a place is part of the network doesn’t necessarily mean that the staff can speak any language other than Japanese. Feel free to drop in a give it a go though, at worst it’s a great opportunity to try out some Japanese!
