Hiroshima Carp Limited edition Vans

Many local fans were disgruntled at not being able to secure tickets for the Climax Series final playoffs for a place in this year’s Japan Series baseball championship after they were released solely through ticket agencies, convenience stores and online nationwide a couple of weeks ago, selling out in just 10 minutes.

These very cool limited edition Hiroshima Carp Vans sneakers, however, will only be available to customers at the branch of ABC-Mart shoe store in the PARCO Department Store in downtown Hiroshima. The laceless slip-ons, which feature the much-loved “Carp Boya” mascot on the upper and a white “C” for Carp on the heel, commissioned to commemorate the Carp’s first Central League championship since 1991, will go on sale on October 7 at 10am.

Adult sizes run from 22.5cm to 30cm and cost ¥7020. Kids sizes are 15cm to 22cam and cost ¥4320. There is no news of how many pairs will be available, but they are sure to go like hot cakes. ABC-Mart and PARCO ask that people don’t line up over night (while at the same time requesting that people don’t drink while lining up), but we doubt many will be able to resist. We wonder how many pairs will find their way onto auctions sites where many Climax Series tickets ended up.
