Fallen blossoms like snow

Nature saw fit to match the eagerly anticipated peak of this year’s cherry blossom blooms with some spectacular storms and everyone got a clear reminder that of the nature of impermanence which the blossoms are often said to embody. Still, even after the blossoms have fallen they can still be appreciated especially when they lie untouched by nothing more than the nosing of deer like a carpet of freshly fallen snow.

These photos were taken in a small park on the island of Miyajima, just off the Asebi nature path.
