Diner’s Club French Restaurant Fortnight

516 French restaurants around Japan are taking part in the annual Diners Club French Restaurant Fortnight “Tous au Restaurant”, during which participating restaurants offer lunch and dinner courses at special prices.

I picked this info up over on Fukuoka Now, and while Hiroshima doesn’t quite compete with Fukuoka’s 27 restaurants, there are 7 local eateries taking part. Until October 6 you can dine on gourmet French food at any participating restaurant for a fixed price of ¥2,013 for lunch and ¥5,000 for dinner. None of the participating restaurants picked up any stars in this year’s Michelin Guide to Hiroshima, but they all have a good reputation for serving quality cuisine. Could be an opportunity for foodies to try out a few new places without breaking the bank.

Diners are advised to call ahead as a limited number of the special courses are offered each day.
