Sanba Shinmei Festival Tondo dates from the 17th centuryand is designated as an Intangible Folklore Cultural Property by the City of Onomichi. Locals bid farewell to and see off the deities who came to visit during the New Year's holiday as they return to the heavens. Goma Ritual burning of cedar sticks followed by fire walking. Members of the public set themselves up for a fortuitous year by taking part in the fire walking for a charge of ¥1500 which includes a headband and gohei staff with pleated streamers.

Kintai Bridge Tondo Festival
