If you feel that you’d like to do something good for children in the community while having great fun\, this is the perfect event for people of all ages including individuals\, families\, or groups of friends. The 25th International Charity Run will be held on November 23 (Sat) at Chuo-koen (The large open park near Hiroshima Castle). \nIt’s a relay race with each team consisting of 5 members\, each running one 900m loop of the park. This fun race is perfect for anyone because you don’t win by being the fastest team. Before the race starts\, every team estimates their finishing time and hands it in to the reception. The wining team is the team that came closest to their estimated time. Many teams add to the fun of the race by wearing costumes and there’s a prize for the team with the best costumes along with many other prizes as well. \nAfter your team crosses the finish line\, delicious tonjiru and a sweet Japanese red bean soup with grilled rice cakes await you. Taking part in the event is not just really fun but is also for a good cause. You will also have a great chance to meet many new people. \nThe events starts at 10:30am \nThe final date for registrations is November 13 \nFor further information\, please contact Mikael Gardefors at Hiroshima YMCA via Email at Mikael@hiroshimaymca.org URL:https://gethiroshima.com/event/hiroshima-ymca-international-charity-run/ LOCATION:Central Park- Chuo Koen\, Naka-ku\, Hiroshima city (opposite side of the road from the Castle on one side and on the other Green Arena)\, Hiroshima\, Hiroshima\, Japan CATEGORIES:Family,Running,Sport ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://gethiroshima.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ymaca-charity-run-chuo-park-hiroshima.jpg GEO:34.3862445;132.4550176 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=Central Park- Chuo Koen Naka-ku Hiroshima city (opposite side of the road from the Castle on one side and on the other Green Arena) Hiroshima Hiroshima Japan;X-APPLE-RADIUS=500;X-TITLE=Naka-ku\, Hiroshima city (opposite side of the road from the Castle on one side and on the other Green Arena):geo:132.4550176,34.3862445 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=Asia/Tokyo:20191124T190000 DTEND;TZID=Asia/Tokyo:20191125T000000 DTSTAMP:20240329T060641 CREATED:20150608T073458Z LAST-MODIFIED:20191007T110251Z UID:10003561-1574622000-1574640000@gethiroshima.com SUMMARY:Sugar & Spice DESCRIPTION:Hiroshima reggae pioneers Big Stone bring a Rae Town Old Hits style Sunday night dance to Centre Point. \nMusic By Pincher-D\,Dr.Pain and Conquer-D from BIG STONE. \nRead more about Hiroshima’s reggae scene\, including an interview with BIG STONE here.\n  URL:https://gethiroshima.com/event/sugar-spice/ LOCATION:Centre Point Hiroshima\, 5F 3-12 Yagenbori\, Naka-ku\, Hiroshima-shi\, Hiroshima-ken\, 730-0027\, Japan CATEGORIES:DJ,Free,Party ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://gethiroshima.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/sugar-spice-2.jpg GEO:34.391061;132.464666 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=Centre Point Hiroshima 5F 3-12 Yagenbori Naka-ku Hiroshima-shi Hiroshima-ken 730-0027 Japan;X-APPLE-RADIUS=500;X-TITLE=5F 3-12 Yagenbori\, Naka-ku:geo:132.464666,34.391061 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=Asia/Tokyo:20191126T110000 DTEND;TZID=Asia/Tokyo:20191126T170000 DTSTAMP:20240329T060641 CREATED:20230305T090359Z LAST-MODIFIED:20230305T090359Z UID:10006740-1574766000-1574787600@gethiroshima.com SUMMARY:Talk with A-bomb Survivors in English DESCRIPTION:Social Book Cafe Hachidorisha provides valuable opportunities to talk with A-bomb survivors in English on the 6th\, 16th and 26th of every month. \nSurvivors share their stories in an informal setting\, free of blame and recrimination. The prospect of meeting face to face with people who have experienced an event so traumatizing can be intimidating\, but we urge visitors and residents alike to take this opportunity to hear from survivors who have made a commitment to spreading the word about the threat that nuclear weapons pose to humanity\, however\, painful the memories may be. \nThe aim of these regular meetings is to increase opportunities to talk with survivors in a welcoming and even relaxed atmosphere. \nThe significance of the 6th\, is that the A-bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on the 6th of August. The survivors who take part in the gatherings held on the 6th speak in English\, while on the other days there is usually someone on hand to help interpret. \nParticipation fee: No charge\, but please buy at least one drink or food item. \n*This event is held even if the date falls on one of Social Book Cafe’s regular days off. The event will be held next to the Yokogawa Ebisu Shrine along the riverside where everyone can enjoy watching heart-shaped fireworks launch into the sky.  \nIt’s free to come and watch the fireworks\, there will also be some food booths\, Valentine’s activities\, and a festival-type atmosphere to enjoy starting from 5:30. \nFor serious Valentine lovers\, you can reserve a special firework for around 8\,010 yen which includes a special dedication to someone you love by sending a reservation request message through the event page on Facebook by 2/7/2020 (Friday). In previous years\, there have been wedding proposals at this event. \nThere are some activities planned in addition to the fireworks show including live music\, food stalls\, a Valentine’s forest to explore and romantic dedications of everlasting love broadcast over the loudspeakers. \nParticipation fee: No charge \nDuring the Covid-19 Pandemic these get togethers are being held online.
