Mt. Shiratori and Sake Festival International Hike

The GANSU international hiking group takes in 453m Mt. Shiratori in Higashi-shiroshima-shi before heading down to “rehydrate” at the Saijo Sake Festival. It’s a relatively easy walk up through forest and the meeting point is easily accessible by train.
Meeting Point : JR Nishi-Takaya Station at 9:00 a.m.
Transportation: From Hiroshima City, take the JR Sanyo line eastward. If you take the 8:12 train from Hiroshima Station, bound for Itozaki, you will arrive at Nishi-Takaya Station at 8:52.
Participation Fee: Free of charge. Please remember that the organizer of this hike will not insure the participants of the outing against accidental injuries (or any trouble under THE influence at the festival)!
Recommended clothing: Sporty dress, a hat or a cap, rain gear, insect repellent, snacks and beverages. Having lunch in the Sake festival is recommended, although it will be a little late. NB October is the hornet season – please avoid perfume and black clothes.
Schedule: JR Nishi-Takaya Station (09:00) – trail entrance (09:20) – Mt. Shiratori /Shiratori Shrine (10:20) – trail exit (12:30) – Saijo town (Sake Festival site)
