Kintai Bridge Tondo Festival

The tondo New Year bonfire festival held on the banks of the river next to Kintai Bridge in Iwakuni is very accessible and visitors are made to feel very welcome.
Participants are asked to make sure that any plastic parts or plastic bags are removed before throwing new year decorations and votive goods onto the bonfire.
Due to COVID-19, the 2021 festival will be a scaled down affair with no ceremony or zenzai soup being offered to visitors.
