July 12 - July 24

daisuke omi

Strange beasts on display at a free exhibition at Galley G this week. If you struggle with bugs, this might not be one for you!

You may have seen artist Daisule Omi’s contribution to this year’s Setouchi Triennale to which he contributed a piece featuring a giant hermit crab.

For this solo exhibition he turns to insects.

Translated (poorly) from the Gallery G FB page:

Artist Daisuke Omi, exhibits his fantasy of giant insects in a venue that resembles an insect cage, giving visitors an experience as if they were inside the cage (inside Omi’s brain). The insects, transformed from the free place of the artist’s fantasy into material, may be trapped in the inconvenient insect cage called reality.

The artists is scheduled to be at the venue on Sunday, July 17 and 24.
