Free Online Sake Tasting Event
November 21, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:40 pmFree
Are you a sake fan or a beginner who wants to know more about Japan’s national drink? If the answer to that question is “yes”, this free online sake tasting event is for you.
Organized by the Hiroshima branch of the National Tax Bureau (which has a vested interest in getting people to buy more sake), 100 applicants will be sent 300ml bottles of 5 different kinds of sake from 5 different breweries located in western Japan along with a list of foods to be prepared for pairing, ahead of an online event which includes a 90min lecture from sake experts John Gauntner and Andrew Russell (who currently works with Imada Miho at Fukucho).
The event will be held on November 21 (the video will be available online for several days after the live event) but the application deadline is November 11, so don’t hang around!
● Foreigners currently residing in Japan are eligible.
(Japanese people can also apply if they are paired with a foreign resident)
● The course will be delivered online in English and Japanese.
(The course will be a one-way broadcast)
● The course will be broadcast using Zoom.
We will set up a special site to test the environment beforehand, so please check whether the online environment is good before the day of the lecture.
Please make sure you have the latest version of Zoom installed, in order to have the safest and most robust environment possible for the online seminar.
Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any damage or malfunction of your personal computer or for unintentional leakage of personal information.
● Be aware that this is a liquor tasting event, and that therefore minors (under 20 years old) are not allowed to participate.
● The sake sent in advance is for the online tasting course, so please do not drink it before the event.
In addition, resale to third parties and resale at auctions are prohibited.
