Bombay Indian Dining

Bombay Indian Dining is a great option for anyone who loves good Indian food. The atmosphere at the Ujina branch is fun and bit more sophisticated and cafe-like in Yokogawa. Your senses are dazzled with the rich aroma of amazing spices and quality Indian dishes. Bombay Indian restaurant has 2 locations: one in Ujina another along the main road near the Joshi-dai womens university library. In Yokogawa, it is along the main road (old 54) not far from the Yokogawa tram and JR train station.

There are many great Indian eateries in Hiroshima, and Bombay is a great option. There are lots of strong spices in the dishes and the details in presentation, like serving diced nuts on top of curries. The prices are also very reasonable. In the Ujina location, why not add a bowl of delicious homemade yoghurt for only 200 yen to go with your meal- a great spicy food remedy and a perfect additional flavor to complement to the spiciness of these good Indian curries.

The vegetable pilaf was tasty and tangy, the mint fish tandoori dish was wonderful and the curries were rich, warming and utterly delightful. Curry dishes start around 800 yen and the menu also includes salads, soup, rice dishes, tandoori meats, nan breads and ice cream desserts.

In Ujina, a Kids plate is available with chicken curry, but can be changed to a vegetable curry if you prefer. There are some special meal sets on offer like the Biryani set meal, Ladies set and Maratha set if you want a combination dinner of curries, nan breads, tandoor meats with side salad. There is also a BBQ tandoori meats set served with beer.

Yokogawa BombayAt the Yokogawa location, you can enjoy quiet and more cafe-like curry dining. There is a variety of options on the menu for starters, nan breads, rice dishes, curries and sets. A large set of a variety of dishes for 2 people for just under 4,000 yen which is a good value meal, however, they were not accepting substitutions for any of the set meals when we last ate there. There is also a “men’s set” and “women’s set” available, but you are unable to choose the curry for the women’s set, although it is possible to choose a curry for the men’s set. We hope they will reconsider this recent “no substitutions” rule as it makes it less vegetarian and allergy friendly than it should be at an Indian restaurant (10/2014).
