A-bombed tram runs again this August

One of Hiroshima’s streetcars that survived the A-bombing that was restored to its pre-war condition for last year’s 70th anniversary of the A-bombing commemorations will be making several runs from Hiroshima Station to A-bomb Dome and back this August.

The tam will make the run twice a day on August 7, August 9, August 12 & 13 and August 20 leaving Hiroshima Station at 10:30 and 14:00.

The tram holds 25 people and English subtitles have been added to the specially prepared, educational video will play during the journey. Not only that, but RCC is accepting internet applications in English here.

Remember to select two preferable dates and times, should there be more than 25 applicants for each journey (which is quite likely) participants will be selected by lottery. Application deadline is Friday, July 15 and applicants will be informed whether they have secured a seat within a week.

The fare (to be paid on the day) is ¥500 for adults and ¥200 for High School students and younger.
