Renovated in 1996, the permanent collection consists of over 3000 pieces with a focus on art with some connection to Hiroshima, Japanese and Asian crafts and 1920s and 1930s art displayed on rotation. Special exhibitions are held here throughout the year.

63rd Japan Traditional Kogei - Art Crafts - Exhibition at Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum

This annual exhibition of traditional crafts at the Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum elevated to the level of art is always fascinating and always attracts a lot of local interest. Combine this exhibition with a look at the plum blossoms in neighboring Shukkei-en Garden (show your exhibition ticket and admission to the garden is reduced to ¥100). Open: 09:00-17:00 (until 19:00 on Fridays) Admission: Adult: ¥700 College/High School: ¥400 Junior High 6 younger: Free
