Interview with Uniqlo founder, Tadashi Yanai

Tadashi Yanai was born in Ube in neighboring Yamaguchi Prefecture. He opened the first Uniqlo discount clothing store in Hiroshima city back in 1984. The company has become a retail giant with a reputation for stylish designs at reasonable prices.

In this interview with Channel News Asia, Yanai talks about the company’s development, localization, the importance of failure and where the Q in UNIQLO came from.
