Shukkei-en Garden Autumn Illuminations

Every year in late November, Shukkei-en Garden stays open late and lights up its cherry and maple trees as their leaves turn red.

It’s a great place to enjoy the Japanese tradition of autumn leaf viewing without the hassle of having to get out into the mountains. In 2019 the leaves will be illuminated from November 22 to December 1.

There is also a traditional night cafe where you can get dressed in kimono for the full experience.
