Be a “Fan Girl” at Tōkasan

uchiwahimeEnryu-ji Temple, or Tōkasan as it is more commonly known, has opened up applications to become of one of this year’s three uchiwahime at this years annual Tōkasan Yukata Festival at the beginning of June. 

The temple asks “cheerful” (akaruri) and “peppy” (genki) applicants to send in the entry form which asks for personal details, and your “charm point” in 50 characters or less. Applicants should also send a portrait and full length photo along with the application.

Going by this photo of last year’s lucky ladies, those selected get to dress in a nice yukata and wear a tiny tiara.
