Noel Gallagher was in town with his High Flying Birds playing at Hiroshima Bunka Gakuen HBG Hall on their Chasing Yesterday tour on April 9. Despite the relatively small venue, Hiroshima was only place not to sell out on the Japan leg of the tour, illustrating once again how hard is for promoters to bring overseas acts here. On the other hand, the ¥9500 on the door entry price may provide a clue as to why overseas acts often don’t sell out here…

NOEL GALLAGHER。夢の中にいた。マイロックヒーローが英国からこんな地方都市に会いに来てくれるなんて。しかも真正面、その間には７席しかない。視界に遮るものは何もない。苗場の時は100m以上は後ろからで、大観衆込みの景色は求めていた大合唱で、それはそれでとても素晴らしかったが、もう苦り切ったその表情の皺まで見えるこの距離は、まるで対話しているかのようで。そして瞬間瞬間に湧き起こるのは圧倒的な肯定で。今この時この状況における。こんなクソみたいな人生でも二度もこの人に会えたのなら、それなりに幸せな人生だったのでは？という危険なほどの甘い泡沫。これが誇りであることに全面的に納得している訳ではないけども、ある人生の側面としては有りで、在るべくして自らはここに在ると。今日までの人生の幸せなカタチとしての結果、明日からの生命力の源。二度とないこの時を掴み取るために、また明日から生きて活きて行こう。ありがとう、ノエル。
