Transformation of Target
August 4, 2013 @ 7:30 am - 8:30 amFree
Mass participation art action to re-imagine the
T-bridge as target. The Aoi-bashi “T-bridge” was
used by Enola Gay pilots as an esily recognisable
target to drop the A-bomb in the center of one of
Hiroshima’s most densely populated districts.
Participants will place themselves in place of the
ones we know were on the bridge looking up at the
shiny Enola Gay. Transcending time, we will perform
the same action at the same place and the same time.
A living experiment. Looking up at the sky from the
Aioi Bridge, thinking about an atomic bombing, we
will shift our perspective and connect the past to
Beginning at 8:15 am on Sunday, August 4, 2013, we
will look up at the sky for 10 minutes. As we do so,
our aerial image will be captured from a helicopter.
We will do this on the Aioi Bridge.
