Captain Cook’s Voyage and Banks’ Florilegium

Exhibition featuring the florilegium works of Joseph Banks (1743-1820), a naturalist and botanist who accompanied Captain Cook’s on the HMS Endeavour. He diligently collected and documented hundreds of plants and flowers during the voyage through the southern Pacific.

Also on show are a number of rare documents about Cook and related to the customs and folklore of the indigenous peoples encountered on the voyage.
